Grow Detroit’s Young Talent (GDYT) is a 6 week summer youth employment program that combines work readiness training with on the job experience designed to prepare 8,000 Detroiters, ages 14-24, for Detroit’s workforce. With the help of Mayor Mike Duggan and Detroit’s philanthropic and corporate leaders, we’re expanding the program to employ more young people, provide stronger work readiness training, more employer support and better coordination across summer job opportunities in Detroit.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS Workplace Readiness – GDYT youth are prepared for the workplace through 12 hours of work readiness training prior to placement at a worksite and 24 hours of ongoing training throughout the summer. Youth Recruitment and Matching – Eligible young people are recruited through local schools, community organizations and the city’s workforce development system.
Youth are matched to employers based on interest, ability and accessibility. Employers can interview candidates or allow GDYT Youth Specialists to manage the entire placement process. Youth Support – Youth are supported throughout the summer by their assigned GDYT Youth Specialist who provides ongoing training throughout the summer and helps the young person have a successful summer in the workplace. GDYT youth will also receive bus passes to assist with transportation throughout the summer. Employer Support – GDYT makes the employer’s job easy by providing support to ensure success! Every employer will have access to: 1) Employer Training (live or webinar); 2) Employer Tool Kit; and 3) Employer Liaisons.

Scouts have 4 important parameters:. Nationality - some people believe that scouts do better job in their home countries, more about that later. Experience - influences a) how good in finding players of specific type scout is and b) how many players he finds. Obviously, more is better.
Becouse of latter, experience matters when you search for any type of player. Judgement - defines a chance of finding better player,. Price - depends on scout skills (experience and judgement), varies between 16k and 3,4M£. If you really need a 5/5 scout and have too much money you can 'scroll' through them by hiring/firing them or also by save/reload.
I'd say that it doesn't hurt to start scouting a month or two later, but this method deserves being mentioned here. About where to send scout. There are mixed information whether sending scout to his home country helps, I'd say that it does a little, but it's much more important to hire better scout. There are 3 tiers of countries, best of them are most expensive (15/45/90k€ per 3 month). Don't bother with low tier, send to high tier if you can. Many players seem to like Spain this year. It also pays to spread out your youth scouting with how small the youth player name pools are this year. If you scout Brazil every month, you'll end up with an entire team of Alvareses and Menenzeses and Ferreiras, and that's really lame.
You can order your scout to search for specific type of players. When starting a career you might be OK with not specifing it for one or two of your scouts (Type: Any) as you want to find youth talents for every position. However, later you will often find yourself looking for specific player. I should also mention that scout is more likely to find a player of type similar to specified and there always is a chance to find a completely different type. I'll try to list what positions come with specific types and how type influences stats. Playmaker - Mostly midfielders, both center and wings.
They have decent physical apart from jumping and strenght, tend to be short, good vision, poor aggression, good technical, especially passing, poor defending and heading. My favourite kind for CM. Technically Gifted - midfielders and attackers.
